There was an interview the other day in which, if I remember correctly Phillip stated that he was going to concentrate less on the experimental free releases. Well since you are reading these words here you are clearly recognizing that the great Phillip Wilkerson has yet done it again. Right before your eyes is the latest experimental release from Phillip that can be regarded as a blessing for your wanton ears. If you’ve heard some of the previous JNN releases by Phillip I can but say, the man is taking it all a step further, another step deeper into the sounds and mechanics of these sounds. Particle is a treat and it should be welcomed to your harddrive with honor. Thank you Phillip for creating this and sharing it with the world through JNN.

The illustrous French duo aka Fred and Anne or better known as Achnn return once again to Just not Normal with a full fledged album. Seven tracks that immediately gnaw at the core of your brain with a lot of recognizable acoustic sounds but treated and placed in such a way that soon you’d imagine yourself in a Lynch world of excitement and tension. One might at times even think to hear the great electronic experimentalists from the 50’s and 60’s in these pieces, making this album a timeless work. Just not normal is proud to host Achnn and Les draps et la plinthe. This is a must see movie….

minds and machines. this is existential combat. to make order where nothing but the faint line of the possible wrinkled perception. the process is as follows — tracks like stabs of meat and protein put down with a midi controller or randomly devised by generative software and flung into ableton live. this is where the fun begins. switching in and out and out and in with soft synths until a netherworld forms like a radio transmission twenty kilometers below the surface in some fantastic and yet impossible cave. flourishings then added with various effects, oscillators, noise makers, static generators, and einstein’s stratavarious. mastered. packaged. archived. and sent with love.
