JNN108 Out level – Strange sounds can make a man happy

And here I was thinking that the man we know all too well from his magnificent field recordings (Luis Antero) had taken a side step into a different cloak (Out Level). But upon checking any profiles for writing a little bit to whet your apetite’s I realize that this is the eleventh release allready! I should rather frown upon myself for not having shared any of his music yet on a previous NTNS radio show. Alas so it is.
After his earlier Website Story released on Just not Normal I can truly say I am flabbergasted with the release Luis now offers. Prepared guitar is the main event in these short tracks. But little is left of the original sounds as these appear more to be sound travels through a space many have not yet meandered. You can today though, and board this delicacy in sounds. While your at it, do take the time to check out his earlier works on XS record, Bypass and Merzbau. Something you may thank me for.

JNN106 Szentpétery Csaba – Conclusion

It was somewhere in 2009 that through NTNS radio I first heard of this Hungarian artist. I had played an album from him that was released on Amduscias Records and I loved that to bits. The silence after that settled in untill early August Szentpétery contacted me and asked me if I was interested in releasing his latest album. Without hearing even a single tone I welcomed him onboard and new that I would be proud of this fine fine release.
And so it did turn out to be; this 12 track album that floats on soft noise, dark ambience but most of all a great atmosphere of abstract experimentalism. Today is the day that you get to hear from this artist. Put up your feet and relax to the hypnotizing works from Szentpétery, your chance is now!

For the longest time I’ve admired the works of AAGSF very much. AAGSF or in the longer version: Aliens A Galactic Sound Flanks hails from Moscow Russia and has to date released many a beautiful album on the Russian RusZud netlabel. I am not sure if he has released outside of RusZud a lot, but let this moment be one for you to get acqainted with the subtle and deep works of this sound meister.

The matter cannot appear and cannot disappear. As also project AAGSF was always. Sounds of novel galaxies, civilizations. AAGSF a heritage of global infinity. Each track – is direct contact since 2005. AAGSF – mysterious noise the project from Moscow (Russia)

JNN087 Candstandya – Slow motions

Hailing from Brussels in Belgium comes Michiel Geluykens aka Candstandy.
Early March he nudged me towards his first full album release for a possible JNN release. It needed but a few listens to know this very much deserved a spot on the label.
His original idea was to create a dreamlike atmosphere using abstract sounds and motions. I must confess that this turned into a very warm, yet still experimentally edgy result that will guide the listeners ears into a comfortzone with slow drones and soft poppy moods.
These slow buddening eight tracks were recorded during 1 week in november 2009 using Guitar, E-Bow, Effects and Laptop.

All tracks written, recorded, edited and mixed by Michiel Geluykens. Artwork by Michiel Geluykens.

As coincidence would have it, JNN released Phillip Wilkerson’s Penumbra
just in time for the February 9, 2009 full moon. A full moon which, as
the universe would have it, coincided with a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse
visible in eastern Europe, Asia, Australia, the Pacific, and western
North America.
